ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of Writ of Certiorari, to call for the records on the file of the second respondent Ref.Order No.NPCIL/MAPS/HRM/3(2)2023, dated 16.05.2023 and quash the same.

2. Heard the learned counsel on either side and perused the materials available on record.
3. The petitioner belongs to Scheduled Caste community and she is qualified with B.Sc Chemistry and M.B.A and also got technical qualification of Typewriting, English lower. She was temporarily provided with job at Bhavini through contract agencies under the man power contract. While being so, in the year 2018, notification was issued Page 2 of 5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.31700 of 2022 calling for applications to fill up the post of Assistant Grade I. The petitioner had applied for the said post and she was qualified for written examination and she had appeared for the written examination. However, the petitioner was not selected for the said post. The third respondent has been selected to that post and the petitioner was not given preference for the appointment to the post of Assistant Grade I.

A perusal of the counter filed by the third respondent and the submissions made by the learned counsel appearing for the third respondent revealed that the third respondent qualified in all the three stages of recruitment process. The third respondent had secured more marks than the petitioner herein. The third respondent had secured 46.47 marks. Whereas, the petitioner had secured 42.67 marks. Therefore, the number of vacancies in the Scheduled Caste category for the relevant post is only one post. In the said post, the third respondent, who had secured higher marks than the petitioner has been provisionally selected and appointed to the post of Assistant Grade I. 5. In view of the above, this Court finds no infirmity or illegality in the order passed by the second respondent and the writ petition is devoid of merits and is liable to be dismissed. Accordingly, this writ petition stands dismissed. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous petitions are closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
