54. Unoccupied assessed land may be let out to resident villagers.
- The unoccupied land in the said forest suitable for cultivation having been divided off by the Survey Department, under the orders of the State Government into fields which bear distinctive numbers and having been measured and assessed by the said Department at a moderate rent, any of the said fields (hereinafter called "numbers") may be let at the rent so assessed to any person who is, and has been for not less than five years previously, a resident of the village in which the number is situate, subject to the conditions contained in these rules.
