Section 44(2) in The Gujarat Emergency Medical Services Act, 2007
(2)(a)A Basic Life Support Ambulance when carrying a patient except in the routine carriage of patient who is convalescing or is not on medical emergency, shall be staffed by at least two persons, one of whom shall be an Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or Health Professional and one of whom shall be a person who is qualified as an ambulance attendant.(b)An Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic or Health Professional shall accompany the patient in the compartment of the ambulance during his carriage.
