It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that no fake Indian currency notes (FICNs) were recovered from him. Accordingly, he prays for bail.

Learned Advocate for the State opposes the prayer for bail and submits CPU, printer-cum-scanner and other incriminating articles showing involvement of the petitioner in manufacturing fake Indian currency notes (FICNs) have been recovered. Trial is in progress and nine witnesses have been examined.

3. We have considered the materials on record. Petitioner is involved in manufacturing fake Indian currency notes (FICNs). CPU, printer- cum-scanner and other incriminating materials have been recovered. Trial has substantially progressed. Prosecution assures this court that trial shall be completed within one year from the next date fixed for recording evidence subject to cooperation by the defence and other systemic reasons. Under such circumstances, we are not inclined to grant bail to the petitioner at this stage.

5. Trial court is directed to expedite the trial in the light of the assurance given by the prosecution. Parties shall cooperate with the trial court in that regard.
6. Parties shall communicate a copy of this order to the trial court for due compliance.
