(2)The Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing, require the owner or occupier of any such building to alter or remove any such projection or encroachment as aforesaid:Provided that in the case of any projection or encroachment lawfully in existence at the commencement of this Act, the Chief Executive Officer shall make compensation for any damage caused by the removal or alteration.
