1. In the present petition, the claim of the petitioner is that the posts which have been left vacant in respect of the selection and appointment to the post of Assistant Professor as being filled by the respondents in pursuance to Advertisement dated 19.10.2021 (Annexure P-2) be given to the petitioner under 2% reservation for Vimukat Jatis and Baazigars, which benefit is not being extended to the petitioner, which is causing prejudice to him.

3. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Charanpreet Singh, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and Mr. M.K. Dogra, Advocate appears on behalf of the respondent No. 4-University.

Learned counsel for the respondents submits that in case any representation raising the said claim is filed by the petitioner, the same will be looked into in accordance with law and an appropriate speaking order on the said representation will be passed within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of any such representation and in case, it is found feasible to accept the claim of the petitioner, the same will be accepted, otherwise due reasons will be mentioned in the speaking order, which will be conveyed to the petitioner.
5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in view of the statement of learned counsel for the respondents, the present petition may kindly be disposed of having been not pressed any further.
