I would like to ask the Government as to why there is a delay in introducing the Minimum Wages (Amendment) Bill. This Government is always saying that they are going to introduce the Minimum Wages (Amendment) Bill. The previous UPA Government has drafted the Minimum Wages (Amendment) Bill. The UPA Government was ready to introduce that Bill. But the general election was announced and that is why the UPA Government could not introduce it. Everybody expected that this Government would introduce this Bill soon. But so far this Government has not introduced it. The Government has kept it in cold storage.
K. Sureshji, I respect you because earlier you were the Labour Minister. But you could not understand much of the things. Sorry for that. You were the Labour Minister. What you had raised, I would answer later on.

I do not want to go much into the details of these things.

Everybody is supporting it but do not tell that nothing has been done in the previous Government and everything you are doing and Modi sahib is doing. … (Interruptions)
DR. A. SAMPATH (ATTINGAL): I am not a party in the fight between the two stalwarts. I told the hon. Minister that in spirit, I agree with him. I am with him. The only point on which I would like to get a clarification from the hon. Minister is this because I pointed out a very particular issue. That issue is not about even giving minimum wages. He told about the fair wages. I agree with him. In the airports, we see the porters helping and handling our luggages. Do you know what wages they get? They are getting Rs. 200 per day for 12 hours of work. This is happening in the international airports of India.
