In the matter of Gangabhavani vs. Rayapati Venkat Reddy and others reported in 2014(6) SCC (Cri)182 it has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court that the opinion given by a medical witness need not be the last word on the subject and where the eye witnesses account is found credible and trustworthy, a medical opinion pointing to alternative possibilities can not be accepted as conclusive.
