8. Academic Qualification.
- A candidate for direct recruitment to the various posts in the service must possess the following qualifications :| Post | Qualification | ||

| (1) | Assistant Controller, Weights and Measures, Grade II : | (i) | A degree in Science with physics or mechanical engineering asone of the subjects from- |
| (2) | Assistant Controller, Weights and Measures, Grade I : | (a) a University established by law in India, or | |
| (b) an Institution other than a University recognised ordeclared under any law to be University, or | |||
| (c) foreign University recognised by the Central Government,and | |||
| (ii) | working, knowledge of Hindi written in Devnagri Script. |
