SHRI ABU HASEM KHAN (DALU) CHOWDHURY (MALDAHA DAKSHIN): Hon. Speaker, Sir, I would like to draw the attention of the Central Government to the plight of the residents of my parliamentary constituency Maldaha Dakshin.
People have to stand in long queues for hours together at the counters of the nationalised banks and post offices for getting their discrepancies in the Aadhaar card corrected. Correction in the Aadhaar card does not figure in the list of priorities of the banks and the post offices as they treat it as an additional work. Due to this, a panic-like situation has developed in my Parliamentary constituency and a lot of people are approaching me and the local MLAs for their signatures. The Central Government clearly does not have adequate resources to carry out this important work in my constituency.
It is adversely affecting the residents. I, therefore, request the Government to take action in this matter and increase the number of Aadhaar centres in Malda.
