FACTS
Heard today dated 04.12.2012. Appellant not present but is represented by Shri Harish Gaur. The public authority is represented by Sub Maj Sunil Kumar.
2. In the RTI application dated 05.03.2012, the appellant had sought information about the contracts awarded by the Station HQ. Shri Sunil Kumar submits that certain civil works have been got done by the MES at the Station HQ and disclosure of this information regarding this sensitive IAF Station would be prejudicial to the national security. After hearing the parties, the following order is passed :
a) The appellant may be supplied copies of the bills regarding purchase of motors at the Station HQ for the years 2009 to 2012.
b) The parties to which contracts were awarded for the maintenance of the generator sets at the Station HQ during the year 2009 to 2011 may be supplied to the appellant along with value of each contract.
c) The appellant may also be given inspection of the records relating to the engagement of workers by the contractors. It is clarified that the appellant will not be supplied list of workers for security reasons.
3. The ratio of the above decision will also apply in Appeal No.CIC/LS/A/2012 / 901103 filed by appellant Shri Jaideep Sharma.
