Section 2 in Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur Act, 2012
2. Definitions.
- In this Act, unless the subject or context otherwise requires, -(a)"Academic Council" means the Academic Council of the University as constituted under section 24;(b)"Advisory Council" means the Advisory Council of the University constituted under section 20;(c)"Board" means the Board of Management of the University constituted under section 22;(d)"Comptroller" means the Finance officer of the University appointed under section 15;(e)"Faculty" means a Faculty of the University;(f)"Finance Committee" means the Finance Committee of the University constituted under section 28;(g)"prescribed" means prescribed by the Statutes, Ordinances or Regulations;(h)"Pro-Vice-Chancellor" means the Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University appointed under section 13;(i)"Registrar" means the Registrar of the University appointed under section 14;(j)"Satellite Campus" means a centre of learning established by the University outside its main campus;(k)"Statutes", "Ordinances" and "Regulations" mean the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University made under sections 44, 46 and 48 respectively;(l)"student of the University" means a person enrolled in the University for taking a course of study for a degree, diploma or other academic distinction duly instituted;(m)"teacher" means a person appointed or recognized by the University for the purpose of imparting instruction or conducting and guiding research and includes a person who may be declared by the statutes to be a teacher;(n)"University" means the Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice, Jodhpur incorporated under section 3;(o)"University Department" means a Department maintained by the University.
