429. Discipline among troops.
- Notwithstanding the presence of a police officer, the Officer Commanding the troops is responsible to see that the strictest discipline is maintained among his men to protect the people from exaction and outrage, and that all possible military precautions are taken to prevent damage to trees, crops telegraph wires and posts, trespass in Government forest or private enclosure, or irregularities of any kind.
