Section 31(1) in Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University Act, 1987
(1)An affiliated college or a recognised institution or a University department may be conferred the autonomous institute by the University in the manner of admission of students, prescribing the courses of studies, imparting instructions and training, holding of examinations and the powers to make necessary rules for the purpose.
