271. Power to require closing of burning and burial grounds etc.
- Where the Chief Municipal Officer is of the opinion that any burning place or burial ground or place for the disposal of the dead has become offensive or dangerous to the health of persons residing in the neighbourhood, or for any other reasons to be recorded in writing, he may, with the previous approval of the Empowered Standing Committee, and by notice, in writing, required the owner or the person in charge of such burning place or burial ground or place for the disposal of the dead, to close such burning place or burial ground or place for the disposal of the dead, from such date as may be specified in the notice.
