(1)It shall be the duty of every officer in-charge of a Police Station to keep a general dairy in such form, as may, from time to time be specified by the State government and to record therein, all complaints and charges made, the names of all persons arrested, the offences complained against them, the names of complainants, the weapons or property that have been taken from their possession or otherwise or the witnesses, who have been examined.
