Section 275(1)(a) in The Gujarat Municipalities Act, 1963

(a)Markets and slaughter-houses, etc. - for the regulation and inspection of markets and slaughter houses and all places used by or for animals which are for sale or hire, or the produce of which is sold, and for the proper and cleanly conduct of business therein; and for fixing the rents and other charges to be levied for the use of any of them which belong to the municipality, for regulating the sale of fruit and vegetables in the municipal market or other specified places;
