MR. SPEAKER: I have called Shri Lahiri to speak. I will call you one by one. Please take your seats. SHRI SAMIK LAHIRI : Sir, as I mentioned earlier, on the 29th of April, when the Indo-Pak mushaira was going on in the JNU Campus, three outsiders entered the Campus and created some trouble inside the Campus. One of the Pakistani Poets had been invited there. They objected to it and they created some trouble in the smooth functioning of the Indo-Pak mushaira. So, the students got agitated and they protested the way in which those outsiders tried to disturb the entire programme. When the students protested, the outsiders took out their pistol. You know, Sir, in the last one month, many incidents have taken place within the Campus. A chain-snatching incident has taken place, some molestation

has taken place and some other incidents have also taken place. So, the students chased those outsiders. At that time, those outsiders took out their pistol and threatened the students. In the meantime, there was some scuffle. But the very fortunate thing is that the hon. Defence Minister has come out with a statement. He has ordered an inquiry into that incident. It has been told and it came out in the newspapers that in the entire Campus of the JNU, all the students are in a fear psychosis. In this connection, I would like to draw the attention of the Government to the fact that there should not be any fear psychosis in the minds of the students within the Campus. Rather, those outsiders, who entered the Campus, should be punished for what they have done. They should be dealt with properly. Sir, through you, I want to make this demand. Thank you.
