175. Supply of uniform to certain classes of officers.
- Superintendents, Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors of Excise shall provide themselves at their own expense with the prescribed articles of uniform. These officers will make their own arrangements for obtaining and making up their uniform; for this purpose they can have an advance as laid down in Instruction 228 below. Rank badges, bottons, etc., must however, be obtained from the Commissioner of Excise or from a contractor appointed by him. Superintendents of Excise will see that the uniforms of all officers subordinate to them are properly cut, fitted and of suitable material and of the prescribed shade of khaki (known as Wigan I).
