2. Power to extend Act to Jain or Buddhist institutions and endowments.
- The State Government may, by notification, extend to any Jain or Buddhist public religious institution and endowment or to any public endowment of a charitable and religious institution all or any of the provisions of this Act and of any rules made thereunder and may declare such extension to be subject to such restrictions and modifications as they think fit :Provided that before issuing such notification, the State Government shall, publish in the Gazette a notice of their intention to do so, fix a period not exceeding three months from the date of publication of the notice for the persons interested in the institution and endowment concerned to show-cause against the issue of such notification and consider their objections, if any.
