Section 254(2)(b) in Cantonments Act, 1924

(b)if not such owner, lessee or occupier can be found, by giving or tendering the notice, order or requisition to the authorised agent, it any, of any such owner, lessee or occupier, or to an adult male member or servant of the family of any such owner, lessee or occupier, or by causing it to be affixed on some conspicuous part of the building or land to which it relates.
