Section 272(3) in The Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats And Industrial Townships Act, 1965
(3)Any person who, without a licence from the Chief Officer under subsection (2), shall occupy any stall, shop, stand, shed, pen or space in a municipal market or sell or expose for sale any article in a municipal market or use a municipal slaughter-house shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to [five hundred rupees] [These words were substituted for the words 'fifty rupees' by Maharashtra 1 of 2011, Section 38, (w.e.f. 14-1-2011).].
