Section 289A(5) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964
(5)Borne in Master Chief Petty Officer Cadre. - These officers shall hold honorary commission against the sanctioned strength of the Master Chief Petty Officers Class I and II of their Branch. No increase in the cadre of Master Chief Petty Officer Class I and II shall be made in the place of Master Chief Petty Officers Class I and II granted honorary commission.
