Section 7(l) in Punjab State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1996
(l)to lay stress on the resolution of rural disputes and to take extra measures to draw schemes for effective and meaningful legal services for settling rural disputes at the door-steps of the rural people including organisation of Mediation Centres in the rural as well as urban areas;
