85. Expenditure under certain of these exceptions to be reported by [Commissioner] [This word was substituted for the words 'Chief Executive Officer' by Bombay 79 of 1958, Section 3, Schedule.] to [Standing Committee] [These words were substituted for the words 'Mayor-in-Council', by Bombay 79 of 1958, Section 44(a).].
(1)Whenever any sum is expended by the [Commissioner] [This word was substituted for the words 'Chief Executive Officer' by Bombay 79 of 1958, Section 3, Schedule.] under clauses (d), (e) or (g) of the proviso to section 84, he shall forthwith communicate the circumstances to the [Standing Committee] [These words were substituted for the words 'Mayor-in-Council' by Maharashtra 26 of 1999, Section 44(b).] which shall take such action under section 87 or recommend to the Corporation to take such action under section 88 as shall, in the circumstances, appear lawful and expedient for covering the amount of the additional expenditure.
