Section 290 in The Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949
290. Commissioner to provide for cleansing of streets and removal of refuse. - For the purpose of securing the efficient scavenging and cleansing of all streets and premises, the Commissioner shall take measures for securing-
(a)the daily surface-cleansing of all streets in the City and removal of the sweeping therefrom;(b)the removal of the contents of all receptacles and depots and of the accumulations at all places provided or appointed by him under the provisions of this Act for the temporary deposit of dust, ashes, refuse, rubbish, trade refuse, carcasses of dead animals and excrementitious and polluted matter.
