(1)On and from the appointed day, the provisions of the Chennai University Act, 1923 (Tamil Nadu Act VII of 1923) (hereinafter in this section referred to as the said Act), shall cease to apply to in respect of [the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai and the institutions specified in Schedule I] [Substituted for 'the College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai specified in Schedule I and the institutions in Schedule I-A' by Act No. 24 of 2010, dated 11.6.2010.]-
