Section 284(2) in The U.P. Municipalities Act, 1916
(2)The [State Government] [Substituted by ALO 1950.] may by notification extend the provision of this section and bye-laws made for the purposes of this section to an area beyond the [municipal area] [Substituted by U.P. Act No. 12 of 1994.] lying within a distance of a mile from the [boundary of the municipal area] [Substituted by U.P. Act No. 12 of 1994.].
