Section 219(e) in The U.P. Municipalities Act, 1916
(e)subject to the provisions of any rule prescribing the conditions on which property may be acquired by the [Municipality] [Substituted by U.P. Act No. 12 of 1994.], acquire any land alongwith the buildings thereon, which it considers necessary for the purpose of any scheme or work undertaken or projected in exercise of the powers conferred by the preceding clauses; and
