(1)A person, requiring any information from a Panchayat, shall make an application to the Secretary of that Panchayat in such form and in such manner and paying such fees as may be prescribed in that behalf and the Secretary or the officer authorised by the Panchayat shall, furnish such information to the applicant within the prescribed period unless the application is rejected or otherwise disposed of within that period.(2)If any application for information is rejected, the reason for such rejection shall be given in writing.
