Section 2(22) in Sikkim Urban and Regional Planning and Development Act, 1998
(22)"Local authority" means a Municipal Corporation or a Municipal Council or a Nagar Panchayat constituted under the Sikkim Municipalities Act, 1995 or a Bazaar Committee or other authority legally entitled to, or entrusted by the Government with the control or management of a municipal or local fund or which is permitted by the Government to exercise the powers of a local authority, and includes Urban Development and Housing Department and a local authority, and includes Urban Development and Housing Department and local authority is a "Local authority" concerned if any land within its local limits falls in the area of a plan prepared or to be prepared under this Act;
