Section 75(1) in The U.P. Minor Minerals (Concession) Rules, 1963
(1)Any offence punishable under these rules may, either before or after the institution of the prosecution be compounded by the District Officer or by such officer as the State Government may by general or special order authorise in this behalf on payment to the State Government of such sum as such officer may specify.Provided that in the case of an offence punishable with fine only, no such sum shall exceed the maximum amount of fine, which may be imposed for that offence.
