289. Powers to require removal of old projections.
(1)If any such structure, fixture or covering as is described in section 282 has already been erected, set up or placed against or in front of any premises, the Commissioner may give notice under sub-section (2) of the said section to the owner of the said premises.(2)If the owner or occupier of the building proves that any such structure, fixture or covering was authorised by any law previously in force or that it was erected with the consent of any Corporation authority duly empowered in that behalf, the Corporation shall, after such structures have been removed, make reasonable compensation to every person who suffers damage by the removal or alteration thereof.Streets
