34. Death of a candidate.
- If before the poll is taken, candidate who has been duly nominated, dies and the Election Officer shall upon being satisfied of the fact of death of the candidate, countermand the polls and report the fact to the Election Commission and the election proceeding shall be started afresh in all respects as if for a new election:Provided that no fresh nomination shall be necessary in the case of a candidate who stood nominated at the time of the countermanding of the poll.Chapter-IV Polling
