Section 278(1) in The West Bengal Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989
(1)On any motor vehicle if any part of generator is so placed as to be within a distance of 15 centimetres in a horizontal plane from any part of the vehicle. the vehicle shall be inserted lated from the generator by a sheet of asbestos one-quarter of 2.5 centimetres thick or by such other insulating material. and of such thickness as the State Transport Authority may by general or special order in writing specify in that behalf but not less than the height of the generator including the hopper and of such a width as -(a)where the generator is recessed, completely to line the recess;(b)where the generator is not recessed, to project for distance of not less than 15 centimetres on either side of the generator.
