Section 50A(1) in Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920
(1)Every councillor and every person nominated under clause (a) of sub-section (2) of section 3-C or clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 7, as the case may be, before taking his seat, shall make and subscribe at a meeting of the council an oath or affirmation according to the following form, namely:-"I, A.B. having been [elected as a councillor of] this council do swear in the name of God/Solemnly affirm that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, that I will uphold the sovereignty and integrity of India and that I will faithfully discharge the duty upon which I am about to enter."
