Section 4 in The Assam Elementary Education (Provincialisation) Act, 1974

The Director of Public Instructions shall be the Administrative Officer of an elementary education and shall exercise such powers and perform such duties as may be required for the carrying out the purposes of this Act. He shall also perform other duties and exercise such other powers as may be prescribed by the Government.
