Section 1 in Tamil Nadu Public Libraries Act, 1948
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Public Libraries Act, 1948.(2)It extends to the whole of the [State] [This word was substituted for the word 'Province' by the Adaptation Order of 1950] of Tamil Nadu.(3)This section shall come into force at once; and the rest of this Act shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
