(1)This Act may be called the Punjab Excise Act, 1914 and(2)Extent. - It extends to the whole of [Haryana] [Substituted for the word 'Punjab' by the Haryana Adaptation of Laws Order, 1968.](3)Commencement. - It shall come [in the principal territories] [Substituted for the words 'into force' by the Haryana Adaptation of Laws Order, 1968.] on such [date] [The 1st February, 1915, see Punjab Gazette 1914, Part I; page 60.] as the [State] [Substituted for the word 'Provincial' by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950.] Government may be notification direct [and in the transferred territories on the 15th May 1958.] [Added by the Haryana Adaptation of Laws Order, 1968.]
