Section 20 in Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (Conduct of Business) Regulations, 2005

20. Powers of the Commission to call for further information, evidence, etc.

(1)The Commission may, at any time before passing orders on any matter, require any one or more of the parties or any other person whom the Commission considers appropriate, to produce such documentary or other evidence as the Commission may consider necessary for the purpose of enabling it to pass orders.
(2)The Commission may direct the summoning of witnesses, discovery and production of any document or other material objects producable in evidence, requisition of any public record from any office, examination by an Officer or nominee of the Commission the books, accounts or other documents or information in the custody or control of any person which the Commission considers relevant to the matter.
(3)The Commission or any Officer authorised in this behalf by the Commission, may enter any building or place where the Commission has reason to believe that any document relating to the subject matter of the inquiry may be found, and may seize any such document or take extracts or copies thereof subject to the provisions of Section 100 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973.The Commission may also exercise the aforesaid power if it has a reason to believe that any document relevant to the inquiry or the proceedings pending before it may be destroyed, mutilated, altered, falsified or secreted.
