Section 142(4) in The Coal Mines Regulations, 2011
(4)Fire-extinguishers containing chemicals which are liable, when operated, to give off poisonous or noxious gases shall not be provided or used belowground:Provided that nothing in sub-regulations (2), (3) or (4) shall prohibit the use belowground of fire-extinguishers giving off carbon dioxide when operated.
