Section 28(3) in The Assam Fixation of Ceiling on Land Holdings Act, 1956
(3)The members of the Board shall hold office for a period of three years from the date of notification mentioned in sub-section (1):Provided that the State Government may extend the period by one year by a notification in the official Gazette.
