Section 31(1) in Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970
(1)The University may grant, in the manner prescribed in the Statutes, to a College, department or unit, which satisfies the conditions laid down in the Statutes in this behalf, the privilege of varying for the students receiving instruction in such college, department or unit, the course of study prescribed by the University and holding examination in the course so varied and such college, department or unit shall be declared in the manner prescribed in the Statutes to be an Autonomous College.
