Section 3 in The City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, 1996
3. Alteration of name of City of Madras.
- On and from the date appointed under sub-section (2) of section 1, for the word "Madras" occurring in any law in force in this State, the word "Chennai" shall be substituted.
