167. Writing off irrecoverable taxes.
- The [Commissioner] [This word was substituted for the words 'Chief Executive Officer' by Bombay 79 of 1958, Section 3, Schedule.] may, with the previous approval of the [Standing Committee] [These words were substituted for the words 'Mayor-in-Council' by Maharashtra 26 of 1999, section 55.], order to be struck off the books any sum due on account of any tax or of the costs of recovering any tax, which may appear to him to be irrecoverable.
