Section 281(1) in Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1971
(1)If it appears to the Medical Officer of Health that the water in any well, tank or other place is likely, if used for the purpose of drinking or for any other domestic purpose, to endanger or cause the spread of any dangerous disease, he may by public notice, prohibit the removal or use of the said water for such purpose.
