Decision Notice
The Commission directs the CPIO, Northern Railway HQ to furnish the list of employees of
Ambala Division and mebers of NZRE who are being provided the Income Tax Rebate under
Salary Savings Scheme, to the Appellant by 22.1.11 and the Appellant to submit a compliance
report by 27.1.11.

Background
1. The Applicant filed an RTI application dt.16.11.09 with the CPIO, Northern Railway HQ seeking information on action taken on his letter dt.12.10.09 addressed to SDGM with regard to the Income Tax Rebate being provided by Sr.Officials of Amala Division to the members of NZRE with regard to Salary Saving Scheme. Shri T.R.Sharsar, PIO/Ambala transferred the matter to CPIO, Northern Railway HQ and CEO/NZRE. On not receiving any reply, the Applicant filed an appeal dt.24.12.09 with the Appellate Authority and on not receiving any further reply, filed a complaint dt.1.2.10 before CIC. Decision
2. The Appellant submitted that all he wants is the list of members of Ambala Division who have been provided with Income Tax Rebate under Salary Savings Scheme. The Respondent submitted that they have not been providing any rebate after 2009 on Rs.50/ allegedly being deducted towards Salary Savings Scheme. The Respondents added that the matter has been referred to the HQ.
3. The Commission after hearing the submission by the Respondent directs the CPIO, Northern Railway HQ to furnish the list of employees of Ambala Division and members of NZRE who are being provided the Income Tax Rebate under Salary Savings Scheme, to the Appellant by 22.1.11 and the Appellant to submit a compliance report by 27.1.11.
4. The appeal is disposed of with the above directions.
