(1)No police officer shall be asked or compelled to do any act of personal servitude in a manner demeaning and lowering the dignity of the police force on the personal demand of another person: Provided that nothing contained in this section shall give a right to a police officer to abstain from doing any act which is needed for the lawful performance of any duty.
