25. Powers and functions of the Academic and Activity Council. -
Subject to the provisions of this Act and the regulations made thereunder the Academic and Activity Council shall exercise the following powers and perform the following functions, namely: -(i)exercise control over the academic policies of the University and be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of standards of instruction, education and evaluation in the University:(ii)consider matters of general academic interest either on its own initiative or on a reference from the faculty of the University or the Board and to take appropriate action thereon;(iii)recommend to the board each regulations as are consistent with this Act regarding the academic functioning of the University including discipline among students; and(iv)exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the regulations.
