Section 815(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)The Deputy Inspector-General is empowered to grant leave to Inspectors and to make officiating arrangements necessitated thereby except in the rank of Armed Inspector, the resultant vacancy in the rank of Sergeant or Sub-Inspector being filled by an officer of the casualty reserve in these ranks but before granting leave to European Inspectors the orders of the Inspector-General shall be obtained regarding officiating arrangements.
